Tapan Shah 3 14 15 15 15
def. Luis Arias 1 15 9 1 12
Luis came up with good strategy in first game and was on a roll.A short break after 9-9 in second game (change racquet) changed the course of the game. From that point onwards, Luis could not handle the pressure exerted by Tapan. However, Tapan needs to figure out his confusing cross wall high shots (TS). Tapan played great but forgot to mention that I played Magdy in between our games while he rested. I guess he exploited my weaknesses. Enjoy your win Tapan! LA

December 09, 2008 Games: 1 2 3 4
Luis Arias 3 2 15 15 15
def. Tapan Shah 1 15 12 13 4
Tapan was ready and eager to play so he slaughtered Luis on the "warm-up" game. The next 2 could have gone either way and even included some do-overs and controversial shots. The last game was Luis' attempt at matching Tapan's score from the first game. He was up 13-1 but Tapan did not give up. L.A. Luis came up with new strategies which worked for him. He looked very determined and patient. The next challenge match should be interesting (TS).

Carlos Zeron 3 15 15 15
def. Tapan Shah 0 3 3 3
Not easy games, Carlos had to change the games' pace or tactics to prevent Tapan from scoring too high, Tapan is gaining speed and reflexes both of which spells: Trouble for Carlos!

Tapan Shah 2 15 15 13
def. Luis Arias 1 7 6 15
Finally, we both got an opportunity to play an official match. Luis paid the price for lot of unforced errors. However, Luis played the 3rd game extremely well and Tapan could not stop him even though Tapan was leading 13-5. Tapan made patient back hand returns to handle the pressure exerted by Luis in game 1 and 2. TS Playing Carlos has changed Tapan's game completely and now he is patient and good with his backhand. His serve is great too. He averaged about 4 aces on serves per game. No excuses from Luis, Tapan dominated. LA

Carlos Zeron 3 15 15 15
def. Tapan Shah 0 2 0 2
The chemical calculations were not working for Tapan and gave up too soon...he will come back with better strategies next time..(Carlos). It is an excellent learning experience from an extremely talented player. Hopefully, I will score more points next time (TS) with new strategies.

October 20, 2008 Games: 1 2 3
Luis Arias 2 15 14 15
def. Gordon Stewart 1 5 15 5
We decided to have an official match after a couple of cut-throat games with Ned which were pretty tiring. Luis was confident with his serve during the 1st and 3rd games but the 2nd one was all Gordon. He got an 8-0 lead early and got up to 12-2 with just 2 turns serving. Luis had to go all-out to tie 14-14. Gordon was scrambling for every ball and came out on top, much to Luis' disappointment after getting soooo close. Luis' quest for the elusive 15-0 continues! L.A.

A high profile game..well played by both sides overall. Tapan was in complete control for first two games and could not finish it 3-0. Luis fought hard and came back to win the 3rd and 4th game. 5th game was more of a mind game... hopefully the teacher will come back big next time;) Thanks for letting me take your 1000 points...lets play again soon. T.S. Tapan was hungry from the first serve and was ruthless on the returns. He was the most focussed and intense that I have ever seen him. I guess he was upset about the Lakers. Luis was warmed up by the middle of the second game and exhausted by the 4th but didn't give up. Tapan served for matchpoint 6 times. The next match will not be a blow-out. L.A.
