def. Luis Arias 2 4 12 15 15 4
A high profile game..well played by both sides overall. Tapan was in complete control for first two games and could not finish it 3-0. Luis fought hard and came back to win the 3rd and 4th game. 5th game was more of a mind game... hopefully the teacher will come back big next time;) Thanks for letting me take your 1000 points...lets play again soon. T.S. Tapan was hungry from the first serve and was ruthless on the returns. He was the most focussed and intense that I have ever seen him. I guess he was upset about the Lakers. Luis was warmed up by the middle of the second game and exhausted by the 4th but didn't give up. Tapan served for matchpoint 6 times. The next match will not be a blow-out. L.A.

Luis Arias 3 15 11 15 7 15
def. Tapan Shah 2 10 15 7 15 11
Tapan added some acrobatics to his "go-all-out-for-every-point" style of play and managed to steal some points away from an overconfident Luis. Several times Luis was up by 4 or 5 points but Tapan came back with a flurry of points to take the lead and win 2 out of the 5 games. If he had his regular racquet, he may have won the last game. Again a thriller! However, the typical long rallies were avoided by some good kill shots on both sides.. TS In the words of the Great Sir Paul Dobinson, "Tapan snatched Defeat from the jaws of Victory!" He had some great kill shots that made Luis resort to high-multiple-wall-shots. Something has to be done about these high scoring matches. L.A.

Aure Prochazka 2 15 8 15
def. Asif Ahmed 1 7 15 4
Aure's serve was on fire today - he even led 14-0 in the last game but could not pull off the skunk. Asif's been working too hard this last week or so...

Aure Prochazka 2 15 15

Éste era nuestro primero juego en muchos meses. Estaba muy cercano. Ni unos ni otros de nosotros condujeron por más de tres puntas. También, hablamos en español el tiempo entero.

March 17, 2008 Games: 1 2 3
Tapan Shah 2 11 15 15
def. Luis Arias 1 15 13 14
It was again a high voltage game with long rallies and cry for each point. Luis had the third game in his favor 10-3 but could not manage to hold the lead. Not much to choose between the two..The battle will continue with new strategies... TS. Tapan is too modest. He dominated the games and Luis had to go all out and still lost 2 out of 3. L.A.

Tapan showed incredible stamina. I need to get in better shape as it is clear Tapan is on a mission! Great match! Rallies were so long and I was so exausted that I forgot the actual scores of last two games. SZ

Luis Arias 3 15 13 12 15 15
def. Tapan Shah 2 12 15 15 12 14
The rematch was just as hard fought as the first match and the scores reflect it. Tapan wiped the court with Luis after 3 games but decided to graciously make it the best of 5. Much to Luis' surprise, a hefty chug of Gatorade before during and after the last 2 games made the difference. Stay tuned for our next battle. L.A.
